چکیده

The trial designs were generally similar. Arimidex-Nolvadex (ARNO) 95 trial included 979 women who were randomly assigned after 2 years of tamoxifen to either 3 additional years of tamoxifen or 3 years of anastrozole. The Italian Tamoxifen Arimidex (ITA) trial included 448 women who were randomly assigned after 2 – 3 years on tamoxifen to either tamoxifen or anastrozole for 2 – 3 years. In the Austrian Breast and Colorectal Cancer Study Group (ABCSG) trial, 2579 women were randomly assigned immediately after their primary surgery to receive 5 years of tamoxifen therapy or 2 years of tamoxifen followed by 3 years of anastrozole. Only the women who were event free at the 2-year point were included in the meta-analysis. With a median follow-up of 30 months for all patients in the meta-analysis, 92 (4.6%) of 2009 patients treated with anastrozole had disease recurrence, as did 159 Latest Studies Hint at Survival Advantage With Aromatase Inhibitors in Early Breast Cancer

The comparison of the effect of different inhibitors on aromatase enzyme effective in the breast cancer by molecular docking method

Background: Aromatase is an enzyme that plays an important role in the development of estrogen-positive breast cancer. Estrogens are essential in human and mainly in women because of their role in sexual development and reproduction. Adverse effects of some aromatase inhibitors increase the need to discover new inhibitors with higher selectivity, lower toxicity and improved potency. In this stu...

Anastrozole data show continued delay in relapse, but no clear survival advantage.

For the first time in 20 years, another class of drugs—aromatase inhibitors— is challenging tamoxifen as the treatment of choice for postmenopausal women with early breast cancer. However, the higher cost of at least one of the aromatase inhibitors and the lack of a statistically significant advantage in breast cancer survival give some researchers pause in wholeheartedly endorsing the drugs. F...

Design, Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of4-(Imidazolylmethyl)-2-(4-methylsulfonyl phenyl)-Quinoline Derivatives as Selective COX-2 Inhibitors and In-vitro Anti-breast Cancer Agents

A new group of 4-(Imidazolylmethyl) quinoline derivatives possessing a methylsulfonyl COX-2 pharmacophore at the para position of the C-2 phenyl ring were designed and synthesized as selective COX-2 inhibitors and in-vitro anti breast cancer agents. In-vitro COX-1 and COX-2 inhibition studies showed that all the compounds were potent and selective inhibitors of the COX-2 isozyme with IC50 value...

Adjuvant endocrine therapy for postmenopausal women with early breast cancer.

Results from multiple clinical trials involving aromatase inhibitors have added to the knowledge base relating to endocrine therapy of postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive early breast cancer. In the extended adjuvant setting, data from the Austrian Breast and Colorectal Cancer Study Group 6a trial showed an advantage for anastrozole following 5 years of tamoxifen treatment, cons...
